about
East London sister duo AYA have been making waves of late, making a name for themselves supporting Lamb on their recent UK tour and gearing up to the release of debut single, the self-titled ‘AYA’.
The girls describe themselves as "two sisters in a band together making soulful, sister harmonies with minimal electronic beats and bass lines” and all of these elements come to the fore in the track, which is the perfect opening statement from a band that promises to move onto big things in the very near future.
Combining minimal, bass-heavy production and swirling harmonies that drive toward an almost menacing, Earth-shattering crescendo, comparisons to the likes of James Blake and London Grammar are clear and well deserved.
